Barsborough
Market
Barsborough Market
is the club’s second O gauge layout, and will be the first
club layout to use DCC control.
The location is
fictional, but is somewhere in the East Midlands.
Barsborough Market will not be found on any map, and exists
only in the imagination of the club’s O gauge modellers,
who wanted to build a small terminus served by predominately
LNER and LMS stock. The station includes a goods shed and
parcels bay. There is a small single road engine shed and a
carriage road with a washing platform. The four road fiddle
yard can accommodate trains of up to four coaches and a loco
and is hidden by five buildings of different architectural
styles faced with brick embossed plasticard.
The
semaphore and ground signals have been constructed and are
currently being installed. Limited running sessions are
taking place from time to time but the station building,
point rodding and signal cables still need to be added, so
if you would like to help with these, or any other aspects
of the layout, please come along and have a chat with us.
